Why Latin?
If you're new to Classical Education, you might ask yourself, what's the big deal with Latin? Why does my child need to learn this dead language?
The answer is simple:
Latin is the bedrock and foundation of Western Civilization.
Far more even than just the Romans, for nearly 2,000 years every major work of Western Civilization was written and read in this venerable language.
Many of the greatest works of theology, philosophy, government, rhetoric, and science were written in Latin. Learning the language is the key to unlocking not only deep insights into but also a deep love for these foundational Western texts.
You can only truly appreciate these authors and their deep insights when you hear them and understand them in their own language, as they themselves spoke, wrote, and taught.
How does this course work?
We start at Ground Zero. No previous knowledge of Latin necessary.
Every week you'll watch a series of videos covering new grammar and vocabulary for the chapter we're studying.
Then, you'll complete the assigned homework. After you've watched the grammar videos and begun studying your vocabulary, we'll meet online every week to work through reading and translating real Latin authors.
You'll not only become well acquainted with the language, you'll get to know real Latin authors. You'll learn about Roman culture, Roman history, and Roman life firsthand, by reading the writings of real, every day Romans.

Hi, I'm Your Instructor, Kyle Brown
With a deep and personal love for the Latin language and Roman history, I've been blessed with the opportunity to teach these classes in a variety of settings. I've taught Latin to all types of students, from middle schoolers to graduate students and everything in between. As a classical homeschooling father, I also know how important it is to provide your children with the best quality education you can. That's why I'm offering these courses. It's my goal to help bridge the gap between parents who want to offer their children the best education they can, but perhaps don't have a strong Latin background themselves. Parents, I'm here to tell you: it is possible. And I'm happy to help provide the solution. With you, the homeschooling parent, in mind I've designed these courses to be the perfect balance of flexible and hands-on. God bless.
